You like problems, because they make you feel that you exist

Pretending is the hour of deliverance.

There are no layers of the personality to peel off in regards to stop feeling miserable, as that comes from the belief in being someone definitive, and peeling off layers enhance the belief, that this is what you are. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Those convinced there are layers of the personality hiding the real identity that is inside of them, spent much time in speculating about how to peel them. Yet the assumption, that layers or anything else than the belief in being someone hides what is real, is nothing but a way to postpone the undoing of that belief.

Just like most alcoholics want to get rid of their hangovers but not what is causing them, namely alcohol, most so-called spiritual persons want to get rid of suffering but not the belief in being someone definitive, which is the cause of it. So they read books and follow gurus, that can supply them with peak experiences of happiness, that seem to ease the suffering for a while delay.

Often those into peeling layers off the personality one day try to convince others, that this is the solution to all problems. The next day, however, they may claim there are no problems at all and everything is fine. This seems to be a contradiction but not to them, because the purpose of the two approaches is the same, namely to shield off the unpleasant experience of believing to be someone definitive.

But as the belief in being someone definitive is the real problem, the solution, of course, is to have it undone. How is not important, but motivation is.

It is not a problem to stop drinking, when you know that doing so, is what causes you suffering. That is of course, if you do not want to suffer.

It is not a problem to stop drinking when you know it will stop hangovers. That is of course if you do not want to suffer. In other words, if you continue to drink it is because you want to suffer, so that you can justify drinking. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If you are really motivated, you just have to go to one AA meeting to understand that what you need to get rid of hangovers is to stop drinking alcohol. Likewise, if you are really motivated for having the belief in being someone definitive undone, reading that this belief is the cause of all problems is enough to start the process of undoing it.

Most so-called spiritual ideas have the exact same purpose as the mundane ones, namely to confirm that you are someone definitive, and that has nothing to do with spirituality, as that is formless.

But you are not motivated for having this belief undone. You like to find problems, because by always finding something, that is not good enough in yourself or the world and working on the correction of it, it seems to confirm that you are some definitive in a world where there seems to be more than one, although there is no more than that which is one, since it is formless and therefore endless.

NOTE: This is part of hack #1.2: You cannot change the world, but you can change your perception of it.
