Pretending to be someone definitive is such a relief

PREFACE:
Everybody knows that appearing to be someone in a world of duality is like appearing to be someone in the world of roleplay. That is why they always try to do the right thing. Unfortunately, most forget what and where they appear to be is not real. It is a game in which they pretend to be someone. Remembering that you do not have to meditate to be that which is you, as what and where you pretend to be, you are not.

PART 1:
When an electric bulb breaks down, it cannot use the electricity coming from the power station to illuminate a world outside itself. This feels like death if identified with what this defines it to be, namely a bulb radiating light on something. Nothing, however, is dead if it does not believe to be a bulb but pretends to be that because what it pretends to be, it is not. It is the electricity that always was and will be and, for a moment, made it possible to pretend it was a lamp. Read more about electricity as a metaphor for life here.

Likewise, nothing lasts in a world defined by time and space, so if you believe to be someone there, nor do you. But if you pretend to be there, you remain as that which is you, and since it is formless and therefore endless, it never ends.

Pretending to be somewhere you are not can be compared to pretending to be someone in roleplay. However, regarding a world defined by time and space, this must be set in motion before you appear to leave it. Otherwise, you will try to hang onto what you believe to be there.

When you do not believe to be in a world defined by time and space, the absurdity of it becomes a comedy in which you have fun to pretending to take part of it.

Now you as an entity defined by time and space falls apart.

So when – in the context of the bulb metaphor – a bulb cannot illuminate something anymore, it is forever dead if identified with the ability to do that. But if it acknowledges, it is not what it can do, but that which makes it possible to do it, it remains as electricity.

Although electricity makes it possible to experience this article on an electronic media, it is not in the article. Likewise, there is no life in a world defined by time although it is what makes it possible to fantasise about not being formless but definitive.

This does not mean it knows electricity because it is not in the world that it lights up. But it means that it does not define itself as something definitive. Hence there is no consciousness of being anything and thus not something that appears to die when it cannot pretend to be someone illuminating a world outside of itself anymore.

The way you think, feel, and act when you believe to be someone definitive is the same when you pretend to be someone, except that sexual lust, rage, or anything else that is politically incorrect is not condemned. That is because when you pretend to be someone definitive, you do not perceive the difference between good and evil to make a difference.

There is no need to search for that which is you because it is not in the world defined by time and space. Just like in the context of such world, you are not in a game you are playing there. Thus all that you can find is what you are not. That is exactly what you discover when pretending to be someone in a world of duality.

Nothing is waiting for you, as there is no more than that which is one. In other words, when you are finished pretending to be someone definitive, you do not return to the formlessness of oneness because you never left it.

INTERLUDE:
Just like the recording on a protected compact disc cannot be replaced with a new one, that which is one cannot be replaced with a world where there seems to be more than one. Not because oneness is protected, but because it is formless and therefore endless, so there is no more than that which is one.

You are, therefore, deceiving yourself if you believe to be in a world where there seems to be more than one. No worries. This deception is easily corrected. If you pretend to be in such a world, you are not there.

You will do anything to experience, that you are touched by something – whether it seems to be good or bad, mundane or spiritual, imaginative or real – because it makes you feel alive.

PART 2:
No matter how good the graphics are in a video game, the characters cannot touch you. So if you feel affected by them, it does not come from the game but from yourself. This self-deception takes place every time you project thoughts onto a character that seem to make you feel something specific. In other words, what you get is what you give.

Forgetting this and being absorbed by the virtual reality in a video game, the fastest way to leave it and return to the world is to turn it off. However, what is judged to be the real world is just as virtual though as the world in the video game. So, being absorbed by that, you can only stop this self-deception by turning off the switch to the experience of being someone definitive.

If you believe to be in a world that is virtual, you cannot be taught how to leave it, because you are not there.

Speeding up the appearance of thoughts until they do not appear to be more than one is the switch to turn off the belief in being in a world where there seems to be more than one. See A world where there seems to be more than one is to be compared to a movie of that which is one played in slow motion. To go from slow to fast, you have to begin where you appear to be by starting to pretend you are there instead of believing it. 

The more you pretend this, the less you are there because where you pretend to be, you are not. Thus the need to seek out thoughts that can be projected on something imagined, so it seems to be confirmed as real, fades out, and when they are not kept under control, they automatically speed up until there is no more than one.

In other words, it is by pretending to be someone definitive in a virtual world, you eventually remember that you are not there. It is not possible because reality is that which is one, and it takes more than one to be somewhere.

No need to worry about how to speed up thoughts. If you do not try to slow them down by controlling, categorising, and processing them, nothing stops them from speeding up. Just like a river’s nature is to run faster and faster towards the ocean, it is the nature of thoughts to speed up until there is no more than one.

PART 3:
Interaction is the name of the game if a virtual world is to appear real. But since the communication is founded on what you imagine others think, you interact with a fantasy of yours, and since what you believe to be is based on this, you are a fantasy as well. In other words, what you appear to be is make-believe – just like Santa Claus, for example.

You stopped believing the adventure of Santa Claus when you grew up, but you still think you are someone in a world where there seems to be more than one, although there is no more than that which is one since it is formless and therefore endless. Undoing that belief is like having fun pretending to be Santa Claus. In other words, when you pretend to be someone definitive instead of believing it, you have fun because what you pretend to be, you are not. Hence nothing brings you down.

Having fun being nobody, there is no need to be confirmed by others as genuine. Thus you can enjoy the illusion of love or whatnot.

PART 4:
The belief that you are someone definitive who experiences something specific that seems to hide, that there is nothing but the formlessness of oneness. This belief, however, corrects itself the more you pretend to be someone definitive because that confirms you are nobody.

Fortunately, this is already so. What you appear to be is empty space. This is why nothing about your appearance in a world defined by time and space needs to be changed or transformed. On the contrary, changes, also if perceived to be spiritual, enhance the belief that there is more than that which is one since it takes more than one to modify something.

This belief’s undoing is not about opening up or surrender to a higher power as that requires more than one. Since it, therefore, takes nobody to undo the belie, you pretend you are somebody because what you pretend to be, you are not.

Perceiving your experiences as nothing instead of something, they are revealed to be lifeless.

PART 5:
Metaphorically speaking, the universe is a shadow of that which is one in which there appear to be more than one. Read more about that here. But since there is no life in a shadow, the only way to appear to be there is to pretend it.

Grasping this, you are free to pretend to be any kind of person. Maybe you like to pretend you are committed, and so you do until you prefer to pretend you are careless or that you love everybody. You can pretend to be whatever you like, like you may do in front of the mirror.

If you feel bad about something you seem to think, remember that thoughts are like shadows. They are not you.

By pretending to be somebody, you remain that which is you and, therefore, detached from what you pretend to be. A shadow, of course, is permanently attached to whatever is casting it, but that which is throwing it is detached from the shadow because it is not in it.

PART 6:
As already said, the world can be compared to a shadow, and a shadow cannot give you anything – not even dissatisfaction, so if that is how you feel, it is not real. All that you seem to get from a shadow is imagined.

From this follows, it is up to you to choose what you imagine to get. At least as long as you go for something within the limitation of the shadow world. Just like when pretending to be someone in a game like Monopoly, you can be happy with what you get within the limits of it. Should you lose something, it is nothing. The same applies to the shadow world, so why not give it your best shot and have fun pretending to really be physically there? You have nothing to lose.

In a world where there seems to be more than one you cannot realise that which is real, namely the formlessness of oneness. But you can realise, that what you appear to be is a fantasy. Doing so, you are free to pretend what to be and enjoy the experiences this seems entail.

To resume, do not try to be spiritual. There is no spirituality in a shadow, only in that which appears to cast it, namely that which is one. If pretending to be what you are not, the unselfishness of that eventually makes all experiences go away, so nothing seems to hide that there is no more than that which is one.
