The apparent different distances and goals of the world make no difference

The dreamer who is having a lucid dream is not in the dream, neither is the dream in the dreamer physically speaking. No matter how real a dream may seem it is not real.

The apparent different distances and goals in a world where there seems to be more than one make no difference, as everything is in the eye of the beholder. The image is grabbed from the web.

All roads lead to Rome, they say, but if this is so, they also lead away from it. So which way are you heading? Before you start wondering, please continue reading.

You can compare a dream to a simulated reality meanwhile layered on top of reality, which will appear hidden, as long as you believe the simulated world is real.

Whatever Rome represents to you is an imagination within the framework of a world where there seems to be more than one. But as that which is one is formless and therefore endless, there is no more than that which is one. In other words, a world where there seems to be more than one is a hallucination, that can be compared to a dream.

Thus it does not matter what seems to be experienced in such a world. That which is you metaphorically speaking remains in its bed, where it is having a dream about a world where there seems to be more than one, so it makes no difference whether what you believe to be in the dream appears to go towards or away from Rome. That which is you is not going anywhere

In other words, the apparent different distances and goals of the world make no difference. You are on a journey without distance and goal.
