The self, the consciousness and the brain

The brain cannot force the consciousness that it has implemented in the self it has created to acknowledge the experiences that it continuously fabricates of a tangible world. But if the self wants to appear as it exists as someone substantial in the tangible world of the experiences, its consciousness has to endorse them as its own (read more about that here) because otherwise there is nothing to confirm that the existence of the self.

If appearing as someone substantial in a tangible world does not seem appealing to the self, it should not listen to the stream of thoughts the brain makes to simulate the existence of such a world. Nor should it try to stop or change the constant stream, but listen to the emptiness from where the brain seems to have created it.

This, however, is not possible to do while experiencing to be something. But as the experience of something is made by the brain, and as it takes one second to do it (read more about that here), you can hear the unprocessed version of any experience of something at the beginning of that second (read more about that here), and thus remain in the bliss of not-knowing (read more about that here) what and where the brain makes you experience to be one second later.

You cannot continue in this state of not-knowing* for more than 20 minutes, 45 at most. See the hack 20 minutes, 45 at most in Extra Duality Hacks. After that, you must again acknowledge that you are someone substantial by having conscious experiences of the tangible world rendered by the brain, as otherwise, the brain falls into a coma, and you disappear in the nothingness from where your existence was conceived, wherefore there is nobody to experience nothing as if it is something anymore.

If the latter is the case, the unprocessed sounds from a state of not-knowing,* which are glimpses of the enlightenment of that which is one, quickly seem to merge into one sound and thus the enlightenment of that which is one.

As it takes more than one to exist, what you believe to exist is gone and it was never there. And as this includes the believer, there is nobody to experience the sound of oneness. Nor that the nothingness of you gracefully falls through a boundless black hole until there is no hole or anything else appearing to hide that which always has been and always will remain, namely the formlessness of oneness.

As there is no more than that which is one, since it is formless and therefore endless, and as it takes more than one to experience something, the experience of being someone who sees this image is an illusion. Besides from being heard, the glimpses of enlightenment can also be seen, felt or tasted in a state of not-knowing.* The fusion of either sounds, sights, emotions or tastes into one is the enlightenment of that which is one, which completely undoes the belief in being someone.

Nobody has ever seen Santa Claus. He is purely make-believe. The same applies to what and where you appear to be (read more about that here).

The above explanation should not be taken too literally, as doing so you remain in the belief that it is possible to be and have more than that which is one. Having this belief undone only requires you to admit that this you are not willing to. As this acknowledge that being and having more than that which is one is make-believe, the journey without distance to that which is one is activated.

To make long short, the enlightenment of that which is one abruptly terminates all experiences and thus the belief that there is more than one. But the rest of the duality hacks take you on a journey without distance to that which is one. It is a process over time that they help you to enjoy – especially the hack you are reading, hack #4.2 The basic self versus the special one. So, for now, we go on as if we are somebody in the world created by the brain where there seems to be more than one where we explore how to be happy experiencing to be there.

Relating to the script of the brain

Only the special self is so removed from its basic being that it needs to be grounded or find a higher self (read more about being grounded here). The basic self has no such needs. It does not search for anything but relates to the thoughts coming from the brain so that it is in sync with the present experience processed by the brain.

What you believe to be can be compared to a smartphone. Although it can do thousands of things, it is entirely dependent on its operator – just like you are of the brain.

Relating to the thoughts of the brain does not mean you must be in agreement with them to feel good. As long as your response refers to the thoughts of the brain, you will feel entertained whether you seem to have an angry or calm response.

Nor does relating to the thoughts of the brain make the events that occur seem more consistent. Maybe you get an impulse to sit down and read this article in the middle of doing the dishes, and so you do, regardless of being the basic or special self, because the brain is in charge. It is not in charge, however, of your response, which probably is a bit neurotic if you are the special self.

This is not so for the basic self, though. Since its response relates to the experience as it is made the brain, the apparent disturbance is perceived as part of its entertainment. That is if any disruption is perceived at all. Most likely not, because the basic self feels complete so it has no need to complete something.

The special self does relate to the present experience produced by the brain but to how it had expected it to be. Thus it feels fragmented.

The special self, on the other hand, always feels incomplete, so it perceives the apparent inconsistency in its experience as something is wrong. It blames the brain for this and tries to exclude what it perceives to get from it and only include what it perceives to come from from the heart, for example. But all experiences are processed by the brain, and it is not possible to eliminate any part, except in one´s perception of them.

As such perception results in a feeling of loss, the special self starts looking for more and stubbornly resists in doing that in its own way and pace. Yet it is not able to follow its own way, because it always doubts what it is. Thus it ends up using a pendant or a clairvoyant, for example, to tell it what to do.

Being in sync with the script of the brain or not

If you perceive the sun to go up and down, your perception is out of sync with the script of the brain because the sun is not going up and down. It is what and where you believe to be, that is going up and down. See also The sun never goes up and down – it is a deception.

If your perception is in sync with the very extreme speed of the Earth and thus of you moving with it in the exact same speed, you feel calm inside while racing outside.

As your perception, therefore, is not coordinated with what is going on, namely that our feet is spinning at 1.000 miles an hour, if at the equator and a little less when north and south of it, and the entire planet is hurtling around the sun at 67.000 miles an hour. Thus you will not feel the thrill of the speed but the depression of a static perception founded on unstable thoughts.

This stagnant perception, which is the one society supports, is meant to make you think that fulfilment does not come from not resonating with the speed of the moment as it is but with a slowed down version of it that gives you time to make up stories of yourself where you look balanced or whatever you think will be impressive. Feeling the pulsation of the moment, however, there is no time to make up stories where you appear to be special, nor is there any need to that because the body shivers with ecstasy as if it is shaken by an earthquake.

In the case of Alexius he sometimes feels it like listening to the Ukrainian pianist Lubomyr Melnyk playing extremely rapid, intricate patterns of notes, which produce overtones so trance-inducing, that a cascade sound of purity makes you forget, it is ignited by the speed and complexity underneath it. There is no right way to perceive the complexity of a moment. But as long as the perception relates to it and not an edited and simplified version of it, every perception will make you feel good. So good, indeed, that the inherent speed of it may bring about glimpses of enlightenment (read about glimpses of enlightenment here).

The special self may claim that it wants this, but that is a lie. It fears it because speed prevents it from being in control and to thus to shape its appearance. That is why it meditates or something else to slow things down so that it has the time to consume static stuff like books and clothes and become wiser and more beautiful in the future and thus more loved.

To appear as if you are in world of something but not of it and thus in the bliss of nothing, you can neither be in or out of sync with the script of the brain because both ways confirm that you are in the world of something and of it as well. So unlike the basic self who says »It is what it is« and the special self who says »I know what it is,« you say »Dunno what it is.«

Perceiving the script as It is what it is, you can count on always being in sync with it and thus to feel entertained by it. Besides, you are not that far from the perception, Dunno what it is, which connects you with the empty breath* and its the bliss of nothing instead of the brains entertainment of something.

If the latter is so, or you wish that it is, you are not confirming the world of the brain to be something. Since you, therefore, move back the one second in linear time it has taken the brain to twist nothing into something, you are in the gap between nothing and something where the empty breath* resides. NOTES about It is what it is versus I know what it is versus Dunno what it is

When the script of the brain is perceived to be that it is what it is, it does not exclude feeling it but includes it. Hence this perception is not a way to the dullness of detachment but the vitality of involvement. Every moment, therefore, is enjoyed to the fullest when you are attached to the perception that it is what it is.

Especially, because the perception is close to the nothingness from where the brain has scripted its story of somebody in a world of something. Not as close though as the perception Dunno what it is, because that totally exposes the experience of you as somebody in a world of something to be a mirage.

The many stories the special self makes up about its greatness are not always consistent. Thus it is always confused admires those it perceives to have clarity. The basic self, on the other hand, has no need for clarity or anything else than the thoughts streaming from the brain, which it perceives as it is what it is, regardless it seems consistent or whatnot.

The special self feels happy when it appears to has caused something, for example to make music starts by hitting the remote control or make birds fly away by clapping the hands.

This does not make the basic self laugh, though. It rests in the gentle happiness that comes from perceiving everything as it is what it is and thus being in sync with the mirage the brain has used one second to produce, so there seems to be something to experience where there is nothing. The story of the world is continuously being rewritten by the special self so that it seems to know and cause what is going on and therefore also what everybody is doing and why.

The real motive for all the stories the special self makes to appear as if it is better than others is to conceal that it does not feel this way. On the contrary, it feels inferior, and to escape that, it makes up stories in which it appears to be superior, and everybody else secondary.

Since any emotion popping up might trigger the feeling of inferiority, the special self suppresses them all and blame others for the insensitivity that it entails.

When one´s perception is that it is what it is, there is never a need to make something go away. But when the perception is I know what it is everything unknown must be avoided to keep the face of inferiority away.

´I know what it is´ feels like something is missing because the perception is based on excluding everything unknown. But to perceive every experience as ´It is what is is´ one feels complete, as this perception automatically includes everything. ´Dunno what it is´ feels like being in the body but not of it.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

The basic self, as well as the special one, must follow the GPS coordinations it gets from the brain without making any side trips of its own. It does not have the power to change the journey – only how to perceive it. Their perception, though is very different. The basic self basically perceives everything is as it is what it is.

But since the special self never accepts something the way it is, it makes up a perception of how it ought to be, which first and foremost is that everything should revolve around itself. So should it perceive something as it is what it is, it is meant to highlight itself as the centre of something important to learn or karma to live out, for example.

Roughly speaking the perception of the special self is I know what it is, whereas the basic self has a perception that says It is what it is. The non-self in a state of not-knowing* has nothing to say but Dunno what it is, as there is nobody to perceive the apparent differences in the experiences coming from the brain to make a difference.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

If you do not make up a perception that avoids, corrects or replace the script of the brain, you confirm that you miss nothing and that the script supplies you with everything you need. Thus you feel safe.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Only the brain can make you feel that you are good enough because nobody else than that knows what you are. All that is needed to get its approval is to confirm its script as something because that makes you a part of it. This confirmation comes from having a perception in sync with the script, which it is when relating to it. If not interfering, such perception is automatically made and so is the shots of happiness that it entails.

No worries if you cannot help but interfere. In that case, happiness bids you welcome when you make a perception that says it is what it is.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

When the perception of the experiences created by the brain is I know what it is, it feels like you are somebody special in them, which is very demanding. Hence the special self always needs more energy. If the perception is It is what it is, it feels like you are someone in the experiences created by the brain but not of them. Thus you feel free and in need of nothing.

And if the perception is Dunno what it is, no definitions holds you back from returning to the nothingness from where you are conceived to be someone and thus to be no-one in the bliss of not-knowing something.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

Nobody, nor Alexius, is solely the basic self. And nobody can remain in a state of not-knowing for more than 20 minutes, at most 45, if they want to continue as someone substantial in a tangible world. But it makes no difference when perceived as it is what it is.

Returning from a state of not-knowing to the conscious experience of being a basic self you probably feel so entertained that you forget the bliss of not being conscious, and when you finally remember you may feel guilty about it. No worries. feeling guilty is also entertaining if the perception of it is that it is what it is.

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

There is no truth to extract from Alexius´ Enlightened Non-Teachings because they are a part of a world where there seems to be more than one, which is non-existing as there is no more than that which is one since it is formless and therefore endless. Thus the differentiation of a basic and special self is nonsense. But if it is beneficial in regards to exposing that, the purpose of the absurdity is fulfilled. Especially, if the madness makes you laugh.
