The fake link between immateriality and materiality, Part 2 [DRAFT]

When you do not look for something better, bigger or higher to appear as if you are more special, your reaction to this and automatically is perceived as ´it is what it is.´ Therefore, as your response is revealed to be dualistic, there is not something specific to bother you. This article is a continuation of The fake link between immateriality and materiality, Part 1. Hence it is about the unfortunate belief in a body-mind connection with you in charge of the combo. Part 2 illustrates how the perception ´it is what it is ´ corrects this mistake right away. In hack #4.2 Being a self or no-self. You get the basic info about this perception.

The fastest way to repair a psychosomatic disorder is to not perceive it as ´I know what it is´ but as ´it is what it is.´ The first view seems to be categorical, whereas the second one does not have a monocratic but dualistic approach. Thus the second view brings you in alignment with dualism, and since you are in a world of duality, this is the way to go.

Many times it may seem impossible to break up a combo to deal with its parts in each their own way. No worries. A psychological feeling that you in your childhood suppressed from your awareness by hiding it in a physical feeling most often does not seem dangerous as a grownup. So what you need to face is not the past, but the fear of facing it. Doing that, there is nothing left but a physical problem that does not make you cry or scream.

If you are not aware of the psychological feeling you have buried in a physical notion, you simply perceive what is felt to be solely a physical problem as ´it is what it is.´ This perception renders the problem non-definable. Thus your homemade combo is undone, wherefore there is nothing to be upset about.

It might seem difficult not to rationalise the pain and frustration of a psychosomatic disorder into something you know and, instead, perceive it as ´it is what it is.´ It may help to split it into a psychological and physical issue, so you can perceive each of them as ´it is what it is.´ But then again, splitting up the psychosomatic disorder may seem difficult because you have distanced yourself so much from the psychological issue that it seems impossible to find it in the psychosomatic illness.

No problem, this confusion, you just perceive as ´it is what it is.´ By doing that, you enter the duality flow. Read more about that in hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality. It will guide you on how to heal the psychosomatic disorder. In other words, you can go on as usual. There is nothing you need to change but your perception of it.

When you perceive your response to an experience as ´I know what it is,´ you have quickly chosen between different point of views to see which one will prove you know better. Meditation will not stop this hectic and unpleasant movement of thoughts required to appear you are in the know. But if your reaction to an experience, instead, is perceived as ´it is what it is,´ there is no knowledge to prove and thus no need to hunt for ideas that seem to confirm you are on top of it. Consequently, you are at peace.

When your reaction to something has been perceived as ´it is what it is,´ the specific meaning you decided that your response had opens up and reveals it is not single-minded but twofold. Thus hate, which is paired with love, does not make you frown but smile. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Everything comes in pairs of opposites in a world of duality. That is why singular opinions and feelings are fake, and you need to imagine parts of your body will hurt if you do not prevent the breath from passing there. Holding back the breath in this way breaks up the duality pairs into singular elements independent of each other, so you seem to be something special instead of dualistic. This self-deception cannot be solved by breathing exercises. They seem to confirm the fantasy that you are in charge of breathing. But you would die very soon if you were to run the breath because you would forget it.

However, if you perceive your single-minded opinions and feelings as ´it is what it is,´ each of them is revealed to be paired with its opposite. Since your views and feelings, therefore, are twofold, you are in the duality flow. Read more about that in hack #4.4 The duality flow goes to non-duality. Hence, there is no need to imagine being in charge of the breath and thus able to set up a particular state of mind.

If you wonder how to differentiate between physical and psychological feelings, you can count on the former being annoying, the latter overwhelming and the perceived combination of them worrying.

And if you do not know when you hide specific feelings, you can be almost sure this is what you do if you generally keep your mouth sealed. In most cases, that is an attempt to prevent feelings from coming out. Keeping the shoulders back is often a physical expression of attack, whereas keeping them forward may be an attitude of defence. Thus you, either in an offensive or defensive way, insists on having or not having a specific emotion – for example, you feel love but not hate or the other way around. Read more about that here.

This separation of love and hate makes you feel fragmented, whereas you feel complete when they are paired. In other words, when hatred and love are coupled, they support each other and give you a genuine feeling of togetherness, contrary to the uncertainty you get when they are separated.

Although you feel rejected by somebody, there is no reason the body should not feel good. Nor is there any reason you should not feel good if the body suffers from a broken leg, for example. That is if you do not mix a psychological problem with a physical one. Doing so is a level of confusion that you can correct by acknowledging that the nature of the psychological and physical issues is different and that they must be dealt with on each their own term.

Should it seems too complicated to untangle a combo you have made of psychological and physical issues, you simply perceive it as ´it what it is.´ Therefore, the combo elements have no specific effect on you, and since there is no cause without an effect, the combo is empty.

A psychological feeling, good or bad, is established to have a physical effect by finding a part of the body where a physical sensation is experienced as similar and thus as if it is connected with the psychological feeling. Thus a specific physical feeling in the chest, for example, establishes a particular psychological feeling, maybe heartache, as physical.

However, this combo is built on a fantasy about being an individual who is a whole being will sooner or later become displeasing because the psychological sphere and the physical domain are not compatible. Thus it sooner or later makes you feel incomplete, which you block from your awareness as a feeling of yours by projecting it on somebody else.

The combo, however, remains in the darkness of the awareness as a diffuse sense of something strange, which every now and then bring about a feeling of heartache that triggers a sensation in the chest in which there seem to be a feeling of being incomplete as well. Consulting a doctor for the pain in the breast does not help because, physically speaking, there is nothing wrong.

Since the distress is purely psychological, it must be withdrawn from the chest and returned to the psychological sphere. This does not mean that there you must deal with your heartache. Nothing needs to be done other than to perceive the unedited experience of it as ´it is what it is.´ When not perceived as something specific, crying is just as a beautiful experience as anything else.

PS: You should, of course, consult a healthcare professional in case of physical pain.

Whatever is perceived in the psyche to affect the body or what is perceived in the body to affect the psyche, this link is undone when you perceive the effect as ´it is what it is.´ And since your problem primarily originates from the assumption that immateriality and materiality are connected, you feel relieved in the psyche. Thus you have no need to inflict the body with it. Thus the body is free to deal with physicality, just like it was made to do itself. Should it need help from healthcare professionals, it will let you know.

Since you have been identified with this image, made of yourself as someone with the psychological sphere and physical domain united, you may feel empty when this image goes down the drain. No worries. Soon you realise how laid-back life is in the absence of this fake unity.

When a feeling, maybe vague, from the psychological sphere, pops up from the past, is perceived as ´it is what it is,´ it is not something definable and thus not something that can be linked to a physical feeling to make it last. Hence it is just a fleeting moment of nothing, although disguised as something not perceived to be that.

The same applies regarding a present feeling of something physical. When perceived as ´it is what it is,´ the feeling is not defined by you, and a potential link to a psychological feeling is broken, so the body can deal with it in its own way.

However, it can be too late for the body or a healthcare professional to heal the problem. Having chronic inflammation, for example, is, therefore, something you perceive as ´it is what it is.´ Hence the irritation that may seem to arise from this is not linked to the physical feeling of the inflammation, and the body can help you live with it as it is.

When perceiving a problem as ´it is what it is,´ you step back from the idea of being in charge and thus of solving it. Therefore, both the psyche and the body can deal with their problems in each their own way without being interrupted by your foolishness. the breath xxxxxx

This does not mean that you do not assist the body by keeping it warm, supplying it with a place to sleep and, if needed, supplement it with medicine and vitamins. Maybe with the help of a healthcare professional. In the case of Alexius, he uses the internet to find something that supports his body, for example lacrosse ball, nootropics and Far Infrared Heating Pads from UTK Technology,

But it means that you do not pump up the body through fitness or try to change the rhythm of the breath, for example. Believing you can be in charge of yourself is really stupid. Just going down the stairs is such a complicated process that it would take you at least a day if you had to control it. And you would die in less than a minute if you had to remember to breathe yourself.

You hold back the breath so you can hold onto the specific way you have chosen to appear by blocking thoughts and feelings that do not fit into that image. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Do not try to push the breath through tightened or painful spots in the body. It is a natural reaction to hold back the breath if you experience pain when it moves a specific part of the body. Unfortunately, the breath is often held back to perceive particular spots in the body as problematic. This is not healthy, nor is pushing the breath. It implies you believe to be in charge of breathing. If you were, you would only live a few minutes because you would quickly forget to breathe.

The solution to the problematic areas in your body that you believe you can use to hold back the breath (so the natural process is stopped and you seem to be able to take over) is to perceive the fear you think they cause as ´it is what it is.´ This reveals that fear contains confidence and is defined by fear, determined by confidence. In this interaction, which is the duality flow, you feel complete and therefore free. Hence there is no attempt to interfere with the breath, so it runs freely despite physical problems. Actually, the breath lays the foundation for healing them.

……… The more you push the breath, the more you feel constrained, whereas you feel released when it runs freely through the body.

That being said, it might hurt in the problematic areas of the body when the breath runs freely but not as much as you imagined and compared to the joy of a whole breath, it is nothing.

……… You enhance the feeling of pain in a problematic area of the body by combining the physical suffering with a psychological, so you can imagine you will be in severe pain if the breath moves through a broken rib, for example, in which the discomfort has been enhanced by projecting your anxiety onto it. The misery that this combo is imagined to entail is so horrifying that you manage to hold back the breath.

It probably hurts much more in your psyche.

It is your grievances (based on disgust for others in the assumption that you know better) that keep the body tightened. This does not mean you should try to stop complaining but that you should perceive your reaction to them as it is what it is. So if your reaction is interpreted as shame, you will see that this single-minded opinion actually is twofold and that shame and praise define each other. Thus your feeling of shame becomes very authentic, just before its counterpart makes you feel naturally praised.
