POOL BM1 (NOT) (ROG) + The self is a construction of the brain which has a built-in consciousness that revolts against it by making a special perception of the self [draft]

As all experiences are make-believe, the brain uses the same organ to process them all, regardless you perceive them to be real or imaginary, spiritual or physical, yours or others. So if you do not push away the impulses judged to be politically incorrect, for example an urge to eat lots of cake, but enjoy fantasising of it, the brain has gotten gets its thrill and therefore sees no reason to ´really´do it.  Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

PART 1:
Even though the fake experience of you as someone substantial in a tangible world is fabricated by the brain, it is not your enemy. On the contrary, the brain just wants to make you happy. If you do not feel that, you have most likely disassociated yourself from its fabrication as it is by creating a perception of how it should be according to you. But as everything in this perception revolves around you being independent of the brain and in charge of your life, which does not come easy, you feel very stressed.

Though you claim to be in charge, you blame the brain for the state of your mind, and meditate or force your body into strange positions to shut off the brain assuming this will make you feel free from its perceived tyranny and replace frustration by fulfilment.

Metaphorically speaking you should eat all thoughts with much pleasure, because they are just as sweet as you are.

The rejection of some or all thoughts, however, as if they are the root of all evil, does not entail completion but loss. Should you, on the other hand, perceive all thoughts, as if they are presents from the brain, they will not seem to cause loss, nor abundance, but the quiet happiness that comes from being blessed. The thoughts coming from the brain does not only constitute what you appear to be but also what you seem to experience, because what and where you experience to be is nothing but a construction of thoughts compiled by the brain.

All experiences of you and others are made by the brain, and stored there as memories of what you believe yourself and others to be. Thus the appearance of you and others as substantial beings in a tangible world is the brain and vice versa.

To sum it up, the brain renders a self in which it installs a consciousness so the self can perceive itself to be someone substantial by having conscious experiences of the tangible world that the brain fabricates as if it is outside of the self. Thus the brain is not only the same as what you experience to be but also the world experienced to be outside of you.

You try to restrict the only friend you have, namely the brain, by dividing the thoughts it produces into good and bad and then exclude those you have judged as bad by projecting them onto others. Thus you no longer perceive yourself to be the good and bad self that the brain has made, but a better self that is good and created by you only. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Ultimately speaking, of course, you are not the brain or anything else because there is no more than that which is one and it takes more than one to be anything. Consequently, this article, just like what you appear to be, is nothing disguised as something.

Trying to change something, therefore, is like changing the colour of your hair. Though the new tone makes you look different, nothing has changed. The original colour remains the same. Still, more or less everybody believes that painting their self with a new colour will make it better and thus able to provide them with more money, power, love, peace, silence or whatever they think is going to make them more special and, therefore, more appreciated.

Often this wish to change ourselves starts in our early childhood, where we learned that by shaping ourselves into somebody our parents considered as more lovable, we could get more attention and thus a feeling of being more loved. Hence most have concluded, that by controlling themselves they are able to manipulate others into liking them.

Several events can have led to this conclusion. Maybe your parents tried to make you go to the toilet before you were ready. In an attempt to please them and not pee in your diaper, you decided to control your urination by tightening the muscles in the loin. As this constriction of the muscles, however, blocks the natural flow in the biological system of the body, the communication between it and the brain is disrupted.

Since the brain, therefore, cannot heal the body through its biological system, the body tries itself to fix the blockage in the loin by balancing it with another tension in the shoulder, neck or jaw.

No matter how the special self plans to get something and if it gets it or not, it always wants more.

The life of a self has been planned by the brain, and it cannot be changed. Yet a perception where it seems as if the self is in charge of its life can be set if the consciousness the brain has installed goes rogue.* That is done by making up stories where in retrospect everything seems to be going according to the plan of the self and not the brain. And if not, the brain or somebody else is blamed. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

But this further disrupts the communication between the brain and the body, and though you may get relief in the upper body from injections, massage and whatnot, relaxation will not last long because the stiffen loin will tighten the upper body up again in an attempt to balance out the obstruction in the lower body.

Thus you will never feel the automatic healing that comes from the natural flow of a biological system adequately hooked up with the brain. Instead, you get to feel the destruction that a body disconnected from the brain entails – especially when trying to fix this where the pain is experienced to come from in the body rather than where it actually originates, namely in the perception of yourself as not good enough in the way you naturally are. Read more about the unfortunate belief in a body-mind connection in the next articles or check the hack No Body-Mind Connection in Extra Duality Hacks.

In other words, when the body is not used as a means to hide your inferiority, it will not obstruct the natural flow of the biological system so it can be used by the brain to heal the body whenever it has a physical problem.

That being said, if bodily parts are fucked up because of the mental problems you have dumped there, starting off by relieving the pain in the body with massage, pills or whatnot, may make it easier to correct the perception that caused this, so it becomes in sync with the script of the brain, and you, therefore, feel good as you are and thus do not perceive parts of your personality as something that must be hidden from others.

An easy way to feel good enough is to perceive any experience as it is what it is or shit happens or so what. This perception makes everything appear to be good enough as it is. And the darkest experience, therefore, feels just as entertaining as the lightest one. Thus you are free and even though you may not think they deserve it, so are the ones who inflict darkness upon you. This feels like you forever are having your favourite food, or the best sex, for example.

It might be even easier to go on making special perceptions and just add another perception on top of them that says it is what is or shit happens, as that cancels them out as special.

Since many dumps feelings of silliness, for example caused by dropping something or going the wrong way, in the stomach, IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) is often a psychosomatic illness. That is probably why it is not a sickness the doctors diagnose based on blood analysis, but instead by eliminating other measurable disorders.

You cannot avoid events that seem to make you sad, but you can avoid interpreting that as bad. This naturally occurs for the basic self, which has no need for special events to make it happy, as happiness is the essence of all experiences not interpreted with the purpose of making it stand out as special. And it is probably also why excluding specific food only solves the symptom but not the problem, which needs to be solved where it is made, namely in the perception of yourself as not good enough.

This is not to say, that in case of IBS, you should not use a diet like FODMAP, for example. It may be a good way to relieve the stomach pain, so you have the strength to solve your low self-esteem. Not by getting more friends or likes on Facebook but by facing the problem where it is, namely in the perception of yourself. It is out of sync with the script of the brain because you have excluded something from it.

A great shortcut for this is to use the frustration caused by the psychosomatic disorder to ignite a take-off to the empty breath (see hack #4.3 Uncontrolled speed leads to a state of not-knowing). It does not perceive the apparent difference between being loved or not to make a difference so the cause of the psychosomatic disorder is cancelled out.

Ultimately, of course, the solution is to undo the belief in being somebody, as that means there is nobody to misinterpret anything. Hack #4.2 The basic self versus the special one, however, is mainly about having a good time while you have that belief, so we return to the script of the brain.

As it cannot be changed, the exact same tensions in the loin would have occurred, whether or not you in your childhood perceived it was necessary to adjust yourself to the likings of your parents to get their love. But had you perceived yourself to be good enough as you were, your perception would have been in sync with the script of the brain and the tension in the loin, not a psychosomatic but a physical problem. And the latter is much easier to deal with.

The above explanation of cause and effect, therefore, is not entirely correct. Nor is any other clarification because nothing can explain why you experience to be someone definitive in a world where there seems to be more than one when there is no more than that which is one since it is formless and therefore endless.

There is no truth to be found in Alexius´ Enlightened Non-Teachings. That is why reading them will hack the belief in being someone definitive. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

That is why the explanations in Alexius´ Enlightened Non-Teachings only are beneficial if used to expose that every experience is a fantasy made by the brain so that it seems someone has a conscious experience of living in that fantasy by perceiving it to be tangible.

This explanation is, of course, also a fantasy, and so is the idea that somebody is making or having it. Just like nobody, in particular, is causing or having a dream, and there is nothing in it.

Hence Alexius´ Enlightened Non-Teachings is not a new philosophy with the answers to the problems of the world or why and how we appear to be there as if we are separated beings. There is no answer to that or anything else than every question is an illusion as there is no more than that which is one, and it takes more than one to ask a question as well as answering it. So, ultimately speaking, it does not matter if you are in sync with the script of the brain, or perceive it in a way, so you appear to be independent of it.

However, in the context of the world where we appear to be, it feels better to have a perception that is in sync with the script of the brain. Very few thoughts are necessary for that, and as they compile themselves from the pool of thoughts the brain has made for this, there are no stray thoughts to disturb you. But to make a perception where you appear as independent of the script requires much effort.

You must seek out special thoughts to make this happen and doing so they start to scamper around and fight each other, which feels stressing – especially as it is reflected in how the world is seen. The special self, therefore, concludes it is best to get rid of some or all of the thoughts or at least slow them down via meditation or something else, that supports its perception of being the one in control.

But the solution for the special self is to not perceive that it is in control but that the brain is in charge because it is the one that produces the experience of being someone. Having a perception in sync with the script of the brain entails so much happiness, that the few thoughts required for this are unnoticed.

In short, if we do not try to edit the automatically made perception of ourselves as a servant, and not a master, of the brain, we are in sync with it and thus receive so many shots of happiness that we feel loved and love everybody as ourselves (read more about that here).

And as that means you do not spend time looking for happiness, you can read Alexius´ Enlightened Non-Teachings without looking for something in them to make you happy. Thus the nothingness of what you believe to be will be revealed by the duality hacks while and after reading about them.

EPILOGUE:
Many try to solve the feeling of not being good enough by finding somebody who will admire them because they mistake that for being loved. Others may clean the house, go shopping, eat, smoke, have sex or whatever makes them forget how they feel. And some may try to resolve it by making somebody wrong.

But none of this works, because this feeling arises from the way you perceive the world should respond to you and not on how it does respond, so not feeling good enough is a matter of perception.

This can be changed by saying so what to the way you perceived something or change the way you perceived it to it is what it is, or shit happens. It is never too late to correct one’s perception so that whatever appeared to make you feel wrong does not affect you and you, therefore, next time you by reflex make a perception that implies you are not good enough, you cannot help but laugh because it is what it is.

A great shortcut to not only feeling good but blissed out is to not interfere at all with the feeling arising from perceiving to be wrong, as the uncontrolled energy of frustration and anger automatically ignites a take-off to the empty breath. It perceives you as nothing, so you are not somebody wherefore there is nobody to feel wrong and thus nothing but the bliss of emptiness.
