META What appears to be the experience of others is like everything else an experience of yours [draft]

Having established itself as someone in charge of its own life, the special self needs to meditate or something else that seems to make it able to control thoughts so it can fool itself into believing, that thoughts are not produced by the brain but itself.  Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The special self is always looking for mistakes in what is perceived to be itself or others that should be corrected, whereas the basic self has no errors to fix because it does not perceive the flow of thoughts coming from the brain to be neither right or wrong but as what it is.

Perceiving the flow of thoughts as what it is, does not mean that you stop being a faultfinder if that is an integrated part of the personality, the brain has fabricated for you. But it means, finding faults makes you happy because doing so fulfils your nature.

For the special self, the result of finding faults is not happiness but a sense of guilt for not having prevented them. Yet it appreciates the feeling of guilt because it seems to confirm, that it is an individual being who can a difference.

It is not aware though, that if it does not perceive the apparent differences to make a difference, it will not have to work so hard to be right and others wrong since it is all the same.

The special self is bound to feel angry. It is not in control of its own life as lit believes to be so it hardly ever gets what it wants. Yet, like the basic self, it always gets what it needs, which is what it has since it gets what it gives and it only can give what it has, so that is what it needs.

If the special self is a faultfinder every mistake it finds makes it angry but if it is the basic self who is a faultfinder every mistake makes it finds makes it happy because that fulfils its function.

in the attempt to escape the fear of that which is unknown – namely that which is one as it takes more than one to know it and there is no more than that which is one since it is formless and therefore endless – you also seem to escape the formlessness of oneness.

Should you, on the other hand, be in the habit of going with the flow, fear will not seem to separate you from oneness but undo the belief in separation, because totally going with the fear, you are nothing but that and thus nothing at all, as there is not something else to define you. In other words, there does not appear to be something hiding, there is no more than that which is one

The special self keeps on looking for something in the world it can judge as wrong so that it can justify distancing itself from what it is it by holding on to its grievances. The basic self may also have grievances, but it is not to distance itself from what it is but to emphasise it. In the happiness that comes from that, it is not possible to hold onto the grievances.

Having grievances you are not necessarily out of sync with the script of the brain, but if you justify them they get sticky and prevent you from being in sync with the flow of the script. The same applies to anger or any other feeling, regardless it appears to be negative or positive.

In other words, if you feel love and justify it with your spouse, loves seems to take a shape, so you are not free to feel the flow of love, which is like clouds. Their shape keeps changing with the flow weather and they may even disappear for a while.

As most unconsciously sense that the world where they experience to be is a manifestation of thoughts, they assume they also are able to manifest thoughts. But they have no thoughts of their own. They are all produced by the brain. It is in charge of everything in the world where you experience to be, as well as what you believe to be there.

The brain, however, is not in charge of that which is you. It is not anywhere because it is that which is one, and it takes more than one to be somewhere. Yet, since not is formless and therefore endless, it is everywhere.

In other words, what and where you experience to be is not even make-believe, as that requires there is a believer. There is neither a brain making up your experiences of the world or someone believing to have them or reading this. Just like nobody, in particular, is making a dream and there is nothing real in it.

There is no moment without the past and the future. In order to keep the balance on a wheel like in this photo, you must be in contact with both. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

To come back to the basic self appears to be the goal of many gurus. They seem to think, it is without ego and therefore living in the now, coming from the heart and whatnot. They are right in the assumption, that it is without ego because it has no thoughts of itself. But it does not live in the now or come from anywhere else than the brain.

It does not know about living in the now or any other speculative states of mind. Like a self-driving car does not have a way of its own but follow the way laid out by The Cloud, the basic self follows the script of the brain.

Hack #4.2 The basic self versus the special one does not attempt to make a comprehensive description of the special self. It is not necessary, because the world consists mostly of special selves, who consider themselves to be better than others or is gonna be so in the future.

If you want to know how the special self works, you can, therefore, just look at look at how you perceive the world, as that is how you justify being special. Read more about that here.

Happiness is a feeling that the brain rewards you with when certain parameters, that depends on how you have chosen to be conditioned, are met. These conditions, however, can be bypassed by for example drugs or meditation, but still happiness is just a mechanical product of the brain, which needs to be counteracted with sadness, so that you know when you are happiness or sad. This is the way of duality and there is no solution to this ongoing change of contrasts than to undo the belief in duality, which does not result in something, because in non-duality there is no more than that which is one and it takes more than one to be or have something. The graphic is grabbed from the web.

Happiness is a mechanical product of the brain, which needs to be counteracted with sadness for you to know whether you are happy or not. This is the way of duality, and ultimately speaking there is no solution to this ongoing change of contrasts than to undo the belief in duality. It does not result in something because in non-duality there is no more than that which is one and it takes more than one to be or have something.

As it also takes more than one to experience being someone, what you experience to be is no more. Should you want to prolong that experience but not being burdened by the nature of duality, you relate to the natural flow of thoughts as it comes from the brain without trying to alter it through a special perception of yours, because then sadness is just as entertaining as happiness.

»The moment when you stop worrying about what’s going to happen, you start to enjoy what’s happening.«

The above is a quote from somewhere in cyberspace, where there are lots of similar ones for those hoping to find something that lasts. But that is not possible. Without sadness to contrast joy, you do not know when you are joyful.

Fortunately, sadness is just as entertaining as joy, when your perception is in sync with the script of the brain. Thus there is no need for joy to last.

When you watch a movie, not only your experience of it but what you believe that the participants think, feel and do is your experience founded on the fantasy of the movie. This is the same no matter what and where you believe to be. Every experience, whether it seems to be yours or others, is made by the brain founded on a fantasy where nothing appears to be something with the purpose of making it seems as if the experiencer is someone substantial living in a tangible world amongst like-minded beings.

Whether living naked in the forest is an experience you are daydreaming off or actually is having is the same to the brain because it does not differentiate between what you believe is real or imaginative. It is the same nothingness that it fools you into experiencing as something. This applies also to the acknowledgement of this. There is nobody to be fooled and nothing to be acknowledged, as that requires more than one and there is no more than which is one since it is formless and therefore endless. The brain processes all experiences in one higgledy-piggledy by the very same organ, because it does not differentiate between the experiences you believe to have when at sleep, awake or watching a movie. Nor does it pay attention to who you perceive to have those experiences. Nor does the difference you perceive to be so-called reality and imaginary make a difference to the brain. Just like the way you perceive the difference between the letters in this article makes no difference to the browser that is generating them.

Practically speaking this means you do not have to avoid fantasies of for example sexual lust, power strivings, selfishness, greed, envy, anger, rage or something else you perceive to be wrong or unattainable, because indulging in the fantasy is no different to the brain than actually doing it, as both experiences are made by the very same organ. This the basic self instinctively knows this, so without holding back, it devotes itself to the fantasies popping up, and thus makes the brain happy by joining its fantasy of a fantasy. See also Far from Home.

The special self, on the other hand, suppresses the fantasies popping up because it is afraid of losing control if it indulges in them. So whereas the basic self feels released by devoting itself to fantasies turning up, the special self feels imprisoned from holding itself back.

The above also applies to any kind of uneasy feeling in regards to sickness, sorrow and whatnot. Indulging in it sets you free.

Feeling happy sad. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Since the basic self is not exclusive but inclusive, and since everything in a world of duality comes in pairs, black and white, for example, the inclusion of happiness contains sadness and vice versa. Feeling unhappy, therefore, is not a clear-cut state of sorrow. If you, for instance, feel depressed because your cat is dead, you are also in touch with the happiness you experienced in its presence. In fact, happiness is the reason you feel sad.

This does not apply to the special self. It is not inclusive but exclusive, so it is not able to feel sadness and happiness simultaneously. Nor is it able to feel any of those emotions on its own, because it suppresses sadness to feel happy, and happiness cannot be felt without it. The special self does not know it has distanced itself from its feelings, because it has replaced them with speculative explanations of what is going on and why.

Should the intensity of a feeling manage to surpass its speculations, the special self is devastated. Yet that is nothing compared to the annihilation it faces by experiencing happiness and sadness simultaneously, because when two opposing feelings meet they cancel out each other (read more about that here) so that there is not something to define it as someone. That is the death of the special self.

The basic self does not have this problem because it does not exclude life from death. So should it fear death, it will meet life as well, and since opposing elements cancel out each other when not kept apart, there is nothing left but emptiness, which is pure bliss.

Alexius nature is not to exclude but include, so since a special self is made by excluding what is judged to be bad in the basic self, he is not able to perceive himself like that. Yet he is able to simulate it by imitating the behaviour of racing for more – just like he is able to simulate to be someone in the world of Monopoly, who wants to grab everything for himself.

At times he is so successful in appearing to be special, that he starts to believe he is, and thus feels as confused like others appearing to be special.

But since he does not exclude the confusion and its chaotic energy, it is free to ignite a take off to the empty breath* so he again is indifferent to what and where he seems to be and as nobody can pretend to be somebody. Read more about that in hack #1.3 Pretending to be someone definitive.

The brain renders a world where there seems to be more than one out of nothing, so there is something entertain the self it also has created from out of nothing as if it is something. That is all.

There is not something to learn, because there is no more than that which is one, so every bit of a world where there seems to be more than one is an illusion – including that a brain renders something out of nothing, which someone experiences as real.

Thus, there is neither someone making this fantasy or being conscious of it.

You are not reading this, and it has been not written. It is not possible, because there is no more than that which is one since it is formless and therefore endless. Yet it seems possible to believe, there is more than that which is one. And since you appear to be reading and Alexius to be writing this, you and he are one in this belief. Consequently, to believe there is more than that which is one is a positive confirmation of oneness.

So even though the belief in a world where there seems to be more than one appears to hide the formlessness of oneness, it is not denying it, because this belief would not be possible without it since there is no more than that which is one.

Most are looking for something outside of themselves, love, massage or whatnot, that will make them feel good,. But what they experience to be outside is made inside of them, namely in the brain, which does not differentiate between inside or outside, as there is nothing outside of it and thus nothing to define something inside of it.

In other words, every experienced produced by the brain is made from nothing to fool you into thinking there is something. And as there are no other experiences than those produced by the brain – including the experiences of coming from the heart and living in the now – there is nothing to experience and thus nothing to find in what and where you experience to be.

Acknowledging this, there is nobody that needs to find something, and the state of mind that was upheld by perceiving it as something which needs to be changed fades out – and so does the one that appears to acknowledge this.

To acknowledge it, you must, of course, be willing to have the belief in being someone undone. If not having this, keep reading Alexius´ Enlightened Non-Teachings. Not because they have the truth. They do not have that or anything else, as it takes more than one to have something and there is no more than that which is one since it is formless and therefore endless. That is why they automatically hack the belief in being someone. As this does not result in something but nothing, you will not see something except that nothing seems to cause problems anymore.

Hack #5-7.1 From the inner senses through a black hole into that which is one does that once and for all. The hack you are reading, hack #4.2 The basic self versus the special one, is not directly about undoing this belief. It is more about feeling good as a basic self, so you do not spend all your time trying to fix the feeling of inferiority that this belief entails when you want to be a special self.

Being a basic self sets you free to apply one or more of the other duality hacks, so the experiences produced by the brain of being someone in a world of duality are not confirmed as real and you, therefore, enter the bliss of not-knowing. But this is, of course, also possible for the special self, if the frustration from not succeeding in making things right is used to ignite a take-off the empty breath and its state of not-knowing.*
