NZR++ The basic self versus the special one [under development]

Though the special self never is open, as that could endanger its control, it likes to show off as being open by having a relationship with somebody who is just as close as itself, and therefore can be blamed for holding it back. The basic self on the other hand has nothing to control. On the contrary, because it is just following the steam of thoughts as they come from the brain, just like a self-driving car follows the commands coming from the cloud. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The basic self enjoys the process of doing something, whereas the special self looks forward to the joy it imagines the result of doing something specific will bring. So if the special self is painting a door, for example, it is not about enjoying what it is doing but keep on doing it until the result is so extraordinary, that the special self feels the joy of imagining that others will admire its achievement in the future.

This, however, is not of any concern for the basic self. Hence the joy of the moment is not disturbed, if small splashes of paint ends on the wall next to the door. And in the future those splashes reminds it, how joyful it was to paint the door.

The basic self never tries to be professional so if it appears to be so, it is only because it has been set up in that way by the brain. The special self on the other hands always try very hard to be professional, as it is not carried by the thoughts of the brain but the rules of the society, that it thinks it needs to empress.

Deadlines are not something the basic self cares about, because just like a self-driving car follows the instruction coming from the brain, it just follow the stream of thoughts coming from the brain, wherefore it does what is in the best interest for everybody, as every experience it has of the world where it appears to be someone is fabricated by the brain.

The special self on the other hand always edits the stream of thoughts coming from the brain into something that makes itself more important than others, for example having the ability to always meet a deadline.

Should it happen, that it does not succeed in this, it will in retrospect interpret the missing deadline as the fault of somebody else, which it states as a fact by saying »Look what you made me do.«

The special self always waits for something special and therefore stuck in a prison of its own expectations. The basic self on the other hand has no expectation and thus nothing to wait for. This does mean it is free to do anything but to follow the stream of thoughts as they come from the brain. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

As the basic self just like a self-driving car never goes anywhere on its own but only go where it is told to, it has no will of its own, no soul or anything but mechanical parts arranged like the ones and zero in a stream of binary code, so that its body can move in alignment with the commands coming from the brain, which are based on what it receives from the sensors of the body. Read more about that here.

There are no conflicts to solve because all the commands it gets are based on what is best for the whole. Hence problems do not occur before the consciousness implemented in the basic self by the brain starts to imagine, that it is an independent being with its own will power to change the world and itself into something better.

It is like playing Monopoly and thinking you can change its world and its cars into something else. It is not possible, because there is nothing else than the way the world of the game is set up. Besides that, it is not real, so there is no need to change anything. So you may as well enjoy appearing to be a very basic car in the world of Monopoly exactly as it is made.

Since feelings are difficult to control, the special self wants to keep them at a distance to avoid its facade develop cracks. But as it likes to show off as someone who is open, it lays the blame for not expressing itself on its spouse or somebody else, who it criticises for being closed and thus making it impossible for the special self to express itself.

The unapproachableness of others is a favourite topic for the special. Although its own feelings are unknown, it is an expert on what others feel – or at least it likes to think so. Yet what it sees in others is its own suppressed feelings. Read more about that here.

The basic self on the other hand has no specific feelings to express or to get out of its system, because it is an integrated part of the world that appears to be outside of it. In other words, what it sees outside of itself is a mirror of the feelings it seems to have inside.

The special self is constantly on the look out for more love, realisations or whatever makes it appear to be more than others. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

Both the basic and special self does everything for the whole, but as the special self thinks everything it does is to get more money, power, love, wisdom, realisation, so that it appears to be and have more than others, it does not know the satisfaction that comes from doing everything for the whole but the dissatisfaction of solely doing something for itself.

Thus it needs the feeling of being part of something, that gathering in special mundane or spiritual groups seems to provide – or maybe they settle with the instant gratification coming from getting personal messages, likes and followers on for example Facebook.

Since the basic self within the context of a world where there seems to be more than one is everyone and no-one, it has no self to doubt. The special self though is always in doubt of where to get as much as possible for as little as possible, that can be used to blow up its importance.

As it is also tricky and like to appear as a wise one, the special self may deduct from the reading of Alexius´ Enlightened Non Teachings, that there is a real self that chooses between being the basic or special self. But just like within the context of a world where there seems to be more than one there is nothing real choosing what you appear to be in a dream. Everything in the dream is unreal including the choice of what you appear to be. It all happens beyond the control of the dreamer.

In other words, regardless what you believe to be, it is nothing and will never be transformed into something, because there is no more than that which is one and as it takes more than one to be anything, being something is nothing.

For the same reason there is nothing to hope for, so be happy if you feel hopeless from reading this. See also the hack No Hope = Oneness, which you can find in Extra Duality Hacks.

The special self likes concepts like ´letting go´, because it seems to confirm, that it is a special and independent person, who decides itself what and when to do something, wherefore it does not risk loosing its control by ´letting go´. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

If thoughts do not seem to result in anything specific, you are rooted in the basic self. But if they seem to create confusion and uncertainty, you believe to be special. And as there is no belief without doubts, appearing to be that is not easy.

Ultimately though it does not matter what you appear to be, because appearances are equally illusionary. Yet your appearance as someone definitive in a world where there seems to be more than one is much easier handled, when going with the thoughts of the basic self, than those manipulated into being a special self. Just like playing football is much easier when dressed for that and not for something else.

The thoughts of the basic and special self are fundamentally the same, because there are no other thoughts than those produced by the brain. They are to be compared to the chance cards in Monopoly, for example, which tells you where to go. That is all. There is no deep messages to be found in them, although the special self rearrange into something that appears to be very special.

It is only the special self, who has a need to question everything and urge others to do the same. The basic self has no such need. It is to be compared to a car in Monopoly, that never ask who it is, but goes where the throw of the dice makes it go. And if that is to a place considered to be a prison or a free parking spot is all the same. Everything is

Every time there seems to be a thought doubting the previous one, you can be sure you are following the special self – especially if that also is doubted.

The special self does not survive being tortured, but the basic self does. It has not added something to itself, so there is nothing to take away. Photo © Alexius Jorgensen.

The goal of the special self is the same as the goal of the game Monopoly, namely to drive everybody into bankruptcy, so that it has everything and the rest have nothing. But this goal the basic self does not relate to, because it has no intention of being or having something, that sets it apart from everybody.

This is not because it is better than the special self. It does not know of such concept, and neither does it know, that the special self thinks it has its own agenda, because that is not possible. Just like in Monopoly everybody regardless of the colour of their car have to move in accordance with the dice. Read more about that in Thoughts do not come from you but The Cloud.

But as it is very important for the special self to be in control, it always invents stories that in retrospect seems to show, it has been in charge all the time, although nobody but the brain can be in charge, because the plot of a world where there seems to be more than one is its construction.

To make nothing appear as something, the brain constructs a self with a conscious of its own by, so that it can be attentive to the experiences the brain repeatedly fabricate of the self as someone substantial in a tangible world. Read more about that here.

The illusionary world in this plot of the brain includes everything you believe to experience, realise or be conscious about, regardless it seems to be spiritual or mundane, because to experience, realise or being conscious about something requires more than one, and there is no more than one, since it is formless and therefore endless.

The basic self fabricated by the brain seems quite boring compared to all those things it imagines it could be if it was in charge itself and thus could change the self into a more special one. But as nothing imagined is real, there is no real difference between the basic self and the special version of it. They are both made from out of nothing.

Yet the special version has lots of worries, whereas the basic self has none, as it follows the one who has made the world where it appears to be, namely the brain – and when that stops to function, the basic self does not object returning to the nothingness from which a a thought of something once seemed have arisen and materialise into a brain capable of making more thoughts and from them create a self, that is bound to confirm the brain as something, in order to not be nothing but something itself.

Returning to nothingness there is no experience or consciousness of something to hide there never was and never will be anything else than that which is one, since it is formless and therefore without beginning and end.
