The Enlightened Bulletproof Coffee

If you do not know Bulletproof Coffee, you can read the official explanation here. According to the inventor of Bulletproof Coffee, its purpose is to become and do more. That is not the purpose of the enlightened version. It is to enjoy drinking it. Doing that, you feel good enough as you are.

Ingredients for Enlightened Bulletproof Coffee:

  • 550 ml 95 Celsius / 203 Fahrenheit filtered water (e.g. Aquasana)
  • 4 tbsp (60 ml) of Herbaria Josef coffee beans or Mount Hagen Peru if you want a coffee with a kick. Should you want it to be caffein free Herbaria Rudi coffee beans could be your choice. When using a French Press Cafetière, e.g. Bodum Columbia,* the beans must have a coarse grind with e.g. Bodum Bistro Coffee Grinder.**
  • 1 tbsp C8 MCT Oil** (e.g. Ketosource).
  • 1-2 tbsp Ghee Clarified butter*** (e.g. from NaturCom)
  • 1/8 tsp (0,5 ml) stevia powder or another sweetener of your choice, in the amount you prefer.
  • 1 tsp Herbaria Dunkler Diwan powder.
  • 1/8 tsp L-Theanine powder. It is an extract from tea leaves with a naturally slightly sweet taste, lots of antioxidants and plenty of tranquillity. The latter so much that it may lower blood pressure. Tastewise, it is what is responsible for the umami taste of tea.
  • 1 big tsp D-Ribose powder. It adds sweetness, a little taste of transparency, lots of energy and mental clarity. Especially good for the maintenance of the heart.
  • 1 tsp Orange Blossom Syrup. Besides adding an exotic flavour of bittersweetness to the coffee, it calms the nerves and relaxes upset tummies.

Directions for Enlightened Bulletproof Coffee:

  1. Cook the water in a kettle with adjustable water temperature (e.g. Cuisinart CPK18E water heater.
  2. Pour the hot water into a French Press Cafetière (e.g. Bodum),*** steep for 3 minutes covered with the plunger. Then stir the top and wait about a minute until the coffee has reached the bottom of the Cafetière, whereafter you gently press the plunger down and wait a minute before adding it to a jug, that has been prepared per point 3.
  3. While the coffee is being brewed add MCT Oil,* Ghee,* stevia, Dunkler Divan, L-Theanine, D-Ribose and Orangenblüten-Sirup to a jug (e.g. from WMF).
  4. Add the coffee to the jug and blend for 20-30 seconds on medium speed with a handheld mixer (e.g. Rösle or Braun)
  5. Pour the blended coffee in thermo-glasses (e.g. from Bodum) and enjoy.

*) It may be best to avoid French Press Cafetière in stainless steel, because every time the metal plunger is pushed down, metal is scratch off the sides. And as the metal in all of them comes from China, you probably not only get metal in your coffee but plenty of toxins. The metal in Bodum Columbia also comes from China but not from a no-name factory, and since the edges of the plunger are BPA free plastic, there is no metal scratched off when pushing the plunger down. Hence this model could be the best choice if you want to have a French Press Cafetière in stainless steel.

**) In case you like your coffee to be less bitter, acidity, gritty, more prosperous and bolder than French Press Cafetière, you may prefer the more subtle Pour-Over Coffee. If you are an interactive person, you could use Bodum for this and Bona Vita to cook the water. But if you want things to happen automatically, Oxo may be your choice.

***) If you are new to consuming fats in more substantial amounts, you should probably start with less oil and Ghee than indicated here and slowly increase it. You could use Ox Bile to help the absorption of fats. If you have a body that rather stores than burns fat, you better stay away from a diet with lots of fats but stick to one of those low-fat diets in fashion some years ago.
